Implications for Education

The article was very informative. It provided a lot of background information that was essential in understanding the teacher education has not been on the minds of educators until recently. It described the different situations that had to occur in order for others to realize that teachers have to be held accountable and to a certain standards.

These teachers must also have to attend professional development seminars. These seminars can not only be education but also informative and time for them to relate to other educating professionals. This will give the teachers time to make sure they are exhausting all efforts when teaching students in the classroom.

The article went in depth when talking about the personal experiences that the author encountered in the classroom. It talked about how involved the author was in accountability across the state on many different levels. The author described how on the college level, once completing the teacher education requirements, a student had to pass a teachers exam to ensure he or she was a quality teacher. On the elementary and secondary levels, students are required to take state tests. These tests are not only reflections on the district but schools and teachers as well. Students are to be taught the information in such a way that they can pass the tests and retain the information.
